GWU to host Churchill research center

George Washington University leaders announced Thursday that their institution will host nation

The National Library of Churchill and the Center will open in phases between 2013 and 2015 at GWU

The Churchill Centre has pledged $ 8 million for the facility that will house GWU, Churchill’s writings, research, and memorabilia in a special exhibition room simple on the floor of the main University Library.

Of that amount, $ 2.5 million in endowed chairs will make history departments to GWU studies the history of the British Churchill and twentieth century. An additional $ 1 million will fund programs and exhibits to visitors. Goal eventually is to connect the Churchill collection for research in International Affairs, law, communication, public policy and other endeavors in Foggy Bottom campus.
