Jan 19 Galle: as part of the Government of Sri Lanka to help develop human resources, India today announced a substantial increase in aid for education, amounting to Rs. 2.5 billion in grants, assist students in Sri Lanka has merit.
“I am convinced that a scholarship program will go a long way in the expanded further strengthen our relationship education, External Affairs Minister of India” s. m. Krishna said in Galle today announced new measures under the “India-Sri Lanka initiative knowledge.”
Under this program, scholarships and slot self-financing for undergraduate, master’s and doctorate-level courses will increase to almost 270 per year, Krishna said.
“This marks an increase in triples, and including 120 slots for undergraduate courses, it was engineering seats to 25, 50 slots for courses in the Master level, and 40 slots for highly subsidized self-financing scheme,” the Minister said on a visit to functions held to hand over the Galle-Hikkaduwa is built with the help of India to the Government of Sri Lanka.
Increased support will be annually cover additional 500 students who pursue their GCE ‘ A ‘ level and a university degree in the institutions of Sri Lanka.
