Tarifa
Tarifa, traditionally a fishing village, sits upon the southernmost point of Europe where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and from where the ferries set sail upon their voyage across to Africa, just 14 kilometres away.
The old part of the city with its ancient walls invites us to stroll along it narrow winding streets. Tarifa is commonly known as the “Wind Capital” due to the two winds (East and West) which dominate the climate of the city and attract kite and windsurfers throughout the year. Another reason to visit Tarifa is its wild, unspoilt beaches. For those in search of tranquillity, the interior offers a fascinating world waiting to be explored. You can also make interesting boat trips to spot whales and dolphins; observe migratory birds, and ride horses or mountain bikes. Tarifa lies just 170 kilometres from Málaga and 100 kilometres from Cádiz.
